McFarland Rod Gathering on Penn's Creek. You're Invited

Just wanted to shoot an invitation out to all of you to stop by my rod gathering this weekend. The gathering will be at The Feathered Hook in Coburn, PA on Penn's Creek. I will be mainly displaying glass rods, but there will be a good number of bamboo on hand as well. Open House hours are from 11:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday and Sunday with lunch served at noon. Looking for a place for a bunch of ladies with horses to go flyfishing/ camping in northern California

A bunch of us would like to find a place to flyfish, camp, ride somewhere in northern California. The McCloud? Upper Sac? Please let me know if you know of a good place to get trucks and trailers into for a camp, we could ride out from there. Thanks!

The Raptor Research Fund is holding a raffle to raisemoney for research being done on birds of prey in Georgia.

My friend Terry R. Finger, 59, of Columbia Missouri passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, while hiking in the Catskill Mountains.

Terry was the most skilled fly tyer in the Catskill style I have ever seen. Known to many, he has tyed at many national and regional fly fishing gatherings. I just noticed on CNN they are going to be make a movie out of the book "a River Why". The site for the movie is under construction...but the picture is enough to drool over! William Hurt is going to be in it, not sure who else. Should be a great movie.

I have not been visiting much since Jan having to deal with personal health issues and not being able to sit for any extended periods so PC time has been minimal. Needless to say the forum has been kept flowing with the able assistance of the moderators who don't take their role here lightly.

It saddens me to have to pass on such news. Another Great has left us for heaven. George Barnes passed away this evening surrounded by family and friends. Please let others know that may not be on this list. He has so many valued friends in the world of rod makers and fly fishing. God Bless you George. You will be missed by many. Rest in Peace.

Save the Cutthroat Trout

Heard from Rhine Messmer of ODFW that they (ODFW) will forward a coastal cutthroat trout harvest proposal for the northern Oregon coast starting in the 2009 season.
Let ODFW them know that you oppose any harvest of these wild trout.
