I'm looking for any information on L.W. Samson, a rodmaker from upstate New York.

He was briefly discussed about 1 1/2 years ago here on the forum. One member owning a 6-foot rod by Samson and another with an 8-foot example.

I also know about the mention of his name as an "Adirondack maker" in Keane's "Classic Rods and Rodmakers", (p.146) and that he may
have worked for Orvis at one time.

I am a big fan of Bob Taylor's rods. I think his tapers are heavily influence by Leonard tapers. I'm sure this is because he worked there and the
tapers are wonderful. His finish work is second to none. I think Bob is one of today's premier builders, but it seems his rods don't command a high
resell price (compared to retail). Are any of you guys Taylor fans and do you have an opinion on why is rods don't sell (resell) closer to retail?
