I read one of Nick's books about 10 years ago and just got The Seasonable Angler and loved it. I'm going to re-read another and just ordered Spring Creek. Nick seems like a guy you'd love to fish with and then go have a few beers with later.

I saw a June 1927 Forest and Stream Magazine at local antique shop and thinking about picking it up since had good many fly fishing articals in it. Price was $17.50 and was wondering if anyone knows going rates for this era magazine?

Awhile back, a TU friend gave me a copy of Helen Shaw's book called "Flies for Fish & Fishermen - The Wet Flies" which I've previously scanned through but haven't read much of it until recently. VERY GOOD book if you're interested in tying wet flies and the book includes the patterns / dressings, plus "how-to-tie" each pattern plus many color plates that show all the referenced patterns.

I'm a fan of this gentleman, but have no idea if he is even still among the living. I know the author blurb on "Flyfishing Heresies" says he was a WWII fighter pilot, so he'd be over 80 if he is...(heck even we vets from Vietnam are 60 plus or pushing it)

Anyone know for sure if Lenoard M. Wright is still alive?

Brilliantly written observation from a man who fished bamboo when it was the only way to go, when it became 'old fartish', when the revival started and still now, in the new golden age when only the sky seems to be the limit without being sure about what the clouds' silver lining is supposed to mean. The perfect extra chapter to be added to future editions of 'Fishing Bamboo' in my opinion.

Couldn't help but wonder how many of you (us) recognise themselves or...

I just picked up a book, Praise for the Lovely Reed, by Jack Howell. I may have paid to much since I hated to pass it up and have never seen it before. I can't find any values on the book and just wondering if anyone here had idea on fair price--book is excellent plus with only neg being slight corner dings on bottom right side of hardback cover---dust jacket is excellent. Don't know if I will get to computer in next week so thanks for info ahead of time.
