Leather-covered aluminum tube for 7' 2/2 rod (or shorter, with spacer). Has stylized "HLL" imprint on top of cap.

Chestnut-colored leather in excellent condition. Shoulder strap, top strap, keepers and buckle all solid, no fraying of stitching, nothing loose. Superficial surface cracks, only, in face of top strap.

Quite hard to find; perfect for a 38.

I'm looking a few places for an Atlantic Salmon rod. Specifically 8 1/2 Foot 8 wt with a Med/ fast action and able to handle fish up to at least 25-30lbs (maybe someday I'll get that lucky!). Thank you all who noticed I forgot to mention thhe length of this rod. It is an 8.5' 3pc rod with 2 tips.
Also noted by one member: tube may not be original since he says older Orvis tubes had a 2-pc brass cap & ring set-up.
S/N 9080 - built in 1949.
Refinished by Orvis this past Fall and fished a couple of time since. They stripped it down to the blank, buffed it, re-wrapped it using modern size guides and tip tops. Installed new ferrules and a new...

1)I also have an 8' 3/2, 4/5 weight Jenkins if anyone is interested. This is a flamed rod with blued hardware, brown wraps, cherry filler, green bag etc. A very nice rod model that Steve no longer makes. Rod has been fished so there is some grip soiling and very minor wrap separation on the female ferrules from ferrule flexing. Rod is in excellent condition. Price is $1350.00

I fish dries with a pair of wonderfull Phoenix level taper silk lines.
One is #3 and the other #5.
I haven´t found a silk line that charges my rods so fine in the short ranges casting so smooth. All DTs seems lower weight than stated when fishing short to medium casts at least for me, and I have fished Loukas, Terenzio, Thebault, Kaizer... Definitly I preffer level taper silks.

Up for sale is an 8'6" 5wt 3pc/1 tip bamboo rod of questionable origin. medium-fast action. This rod was recently refinished by a man in Idaho and is in pristine condition. Cork is new and of the highest grade, new guides, wraps, varnish. Reel seat is original N/S. Not sure if the ferrules are original or not. the pieces are all the same size and perfectly straight (despite what it may look like in the pics) The rod is gorgeous and the pics don't do it justice.
