			<description><![CDATA[ I have a 9&#39; Sharpe that looks and feels heavy with a curious twisting/locking ferrule.  I can&#39;t find a weight on it but it looks strong enough for
salmon although a Scott making a salmon rod at that length seems surprising.   I haven&#39;t fished it but after reading the above its time I sorted it with a

			<description><![CDATA[ I made up several 8-footers from Sharpe&#39;s blanks (purchased from Anglersmail) back in the 70s and kept one for myself.  They were super fishing rods. 
Somewhere along the way I cleverly shattered the tip.  Does anyone know where one could have a new tip made that would be close to the original?   Is it
possible that Orvis might be a source?

Yet rods (or blanks) made by them, like Cortland, Norm Thompson&#39;s, Farlow&#39;s and most of all, Leonard Duracane, bring higher prices that the

My favorite Sharpe&#39;s rod was a seven foot Featherweight I owned back in early 1980&#39;s. It was a lovely wand and worked perfectly with five-weight line.

			<description><![CDATA[ Everyone is absolutely correct, Sharpes was one hell of a company, many tapers and actions, not only to mention the collaborations with some of the more renown
rod companies in the US and France, I wouldn&#39;t be surprised to see them reach Orvis rod prices before too long, so pick one up while you have the chance.
There is nothing with picking up a quality rod that you won&#39;t feel guilty about fishing, especially one that&#39;s in the 300 to 400 price range. ]]></description>

Not my first bamboo fly rod, but my first rod.

I was so captured by this rod, that I started to buy only bamboo rods. I never bought a carbon rod!
<br>
The rod is bakelite impregned an the taper is a pure pararabolic. It derived strait from the Pezon &amp; Michel Superparabolic PPP Master (type Auguste
Lambiote).

It is a slooow casting rod for line DT5, but sooo relaxing.

			<description><![CDATA[ I have had two Sharpes rods, both of the Scottie series. The first was an 8 foot, 5/6wt with two tips. It was a good casting, long line rod I would
characterize as a medium action with a good progressive taper. It seemed a bit heavy. The other rod was a 7 foot, 5wt, with one tip. It was a real sweet,
medium actioned rod and I used it for long casts for fishing for bluegill with popping bugs. It could handle 45 to 50 feet of line and leader with no problems.

There have been some Sharpe rods for sale in Sweden during tha last year, to pretty nice prices.

I have not seen one of them been sold for more than $300. So hopefully i can get one to tryout.

My first bamboo fishing rod.  It only had one tip so I e-mailed Sharpes to see if I could get another one made.  About 1984 I think and they were selling off
their cane rod building divison.  Had a few e-mail conversations with someone at Sharpes but never did get a second tip made.  They sold their cane rod
