This 7 footer was made for my wife, and who knows, maybe she'll take up fishing again. I'm happy with it. Two steps forward, avoided the one step back with this one.

this rod is the first of a new rod offered on my web page.Many of you have purchase my F.E.Thomas light special( 8' 3pc. 4/5wt.)there have been many kind comments ,and I have had some say they find it a little fast when power is applied for extra distance. there seemed to also be variation in the opinion of the proper line weight. I felt that there was an opertunity to make a new taper that addressed these ideas. this rod is modified by narrowing the lower mid and upper butt section to...

hey Jim, with a shop that neat and organized, its amazing you can get anything done. I`ve been building rods for about a year and my shop looks like a scene from an earthquake movie

I made this for my son to bash around in bass ponds. Remnant cane from my 209e, a store bought reel seat and handle and one of those ebay "super z" 17 ferrules.

This my last work. A new taper for 2009. 8' 3" #7 2/2 Traditional Flamed Series.
I was always looking for a rod to fish the big ones, and really this is it. A real casting machine.

Finished first saltwater Pentalux - 8 1/2 ft 9 wt. The yellow tipping is Kevlar... Sock is 100% bamboo fiber...

A sister thread to "Got a new rod lately" . . .

Wondering if anyone is willing to share what they are working on at the moment - pics would be great too.

Personally, I just finished gluing up another Gillum taper (just waiting now for the hardware to arrive!!!). Also finished planing out a Granger 8040.

I'll post pics once there is something more than sticks to look at.
