The local TU Chapter is raffling off a 7' Leonard Duracane 2/2, very good condition. Clearly this rod has been fished but it has also been lovingly cared
for. Green wraps, Ser # 2306.

Can you folks offer any information on this rod? Era of manufacture, value, who was working at Leonard at the time?

Thanks

AgMD

Thanks, the folks at the TU chapter will be happy to hear the information. It has a nice feel and I wouldn't mind trying it out.
I bought the first ticket so I figure my chances are -- uh -- about zero.

I have a 7 1/2 duracane serial number 2190 in the same condition as the one in the picture. Green wraps, excellent casting rod. The rod is from the early
70's. They are listed in the 74 Leonard catalog as green, don't have a 75, but in the 76 catalog they are listed with brown wraps. The green wraps are
more desirable and are worth more. I would agree with creaky mint $1400 - $1450

I think those green wraps are early 70s. Really great casting rods. Mine is heavily fished and got sets/delams so has two new tips I had made. A very nice
lighter trout rod that is very smooth. Not sure about the exact genesis of the blanks for the green wraps uk or in house? - seems I was told once, heard a
variety of reports, but don't remember the concensus. Mint I'd say 1450 for the 7' 2/2 green wrap
