yes i do flame rods and am going to start doing more.i do an even flaming so the nodes are the same color as the rest of the rod. the next ones i am doing will be flamed.my computer is down so i cant post untill it is fixed i am on a frends computer now. thanks steve

I was able to cast one of Steve's 8' 5wt North Star rods at the Metolius this year and it was a real treat! It is a great taper that really highlights the star hollowing technique's advantages and none of the disadvantages. It was great in close with a quick wrist snap, yet seemed to keep asking for more line the more you would give it. An amazingly smooth and easy to cast rod, and quite easy on the eyes as well.

Steve has hit on something very unique and identifying. Now upon opening the rod sock and seeing the mozaic ferrule plug, there is no mistaking that is a Steve Kiley rod! Really is a very nice touch! Tim

hi tc i am listening, just got back from 10 days in wis. seeing family.i was going to run some 8' 5 wts and 4wts on the next run coming up ,but now it looks like i will have to change that to 3 8' 5wts and 3 7'9" 4wts. thanks for the input steve

I am really hoping that Steve transposes this taper into a 4wt.. Maybe somewhere around 7'9". Then I will have two to pick from.
