I am interested in ordering a Spittler Quad. I've heard nothing but rave reviews of his rods. Before I contact Mr. Spittler to order a rod, I thought it
might be wise to check with forum members to get their opinions on his best tapers.

I intend on getting a 7.5' to 8' rod for either a 4 wt or 5 wt line. I prefer medium to medium fast rod actions rods that roll cast well. My casting
is normally in the 10'-45' range. I mostly fish medium/large creeks to medium size...

When I was researching my Spittler order, I kept hearing over and over that his longer rods (8' and up) are his bread & butter. I like longer, lighter,
crisp-actioned rods for dry-fly fishing and went with his 8' 2/2 4wt hollow-built quad of progressive taper.

I currently fish a 9' 5 wt and an 8-1/2' staggered ferrule 5-6 wt. Both are beautiful rods and great fishing tools. They are the only quads that I
fish, and each takes a little getting used-to. My casting style is not exactly confined to one plane, and I find that these quads really require that I focus
