Sage 279 LL Question

I've purchased a Sage LL 279 with a sliding band reel seat. The glue in the end cap released and I can't recall how the band was originally situated.

Would appreciate knowing if the knurled ridge around the band faces toward the tip or the butt. Also would appreciate any suggestions for glue to use when
reattaching the end cap.

Thanks for your help.

But I would use a longer-setting epoxy. 5-min sets up very brittle and fails fairly easily compared to longer curing epoxies. My own preference is U-40 Rod
Bond. Not too fussy about proportions and can still be made to let go with boiling water temps. Henry.

5 minute epoxy would work nicely. Scuff up the mating surfaces prior.
