Also, having a kayak built poses a few problems your cousin should consider. One, most reputable builders are like quality rod builders and they may already have boats on order for existing customers. So there may be a wait period to get one. Second, a kayak is like a good fitting shoe, you need to try it on. Someone else buying you shoes or a kayak is very nice nice but they / it may not be a good fit.
