Somewhere between Horseshoe and Nympher, I'd say. It needs at the least a total redo with new cork, plus you'd need to find an original Payne tube (almost impossible) and perhaps a bag. At that point, using a really good restoration expert, you'd end up with around 2300-2500 in a restored Payne, with a replacement bag & tube. Kind of a wash cashwise, IMO, but you'd have a very nice rod to fish.

What reel seat is on it, handle shape (and how much was the cork taken down to hide the ridging), and overall condition? Any sets? You're not giving us a lot to go on other than close ups of the flaws. Some macro photos would help.

Two tips same length, one winding teared with snake foot exposed, one ferrule winding non original, sanded cork to disguise ridging, tight ferrule fit with suspicious female ferrules marks, no hang tag, un-marked payne tube, 1 small hook dig, a few varnish marks.
What is its value, in your very learned opinion, gentlemen?
