Whenever I dream about St George reels ....

I think about owning a Junior (one day) and also about the 4-1/2 inch 2 handle St George!(maybe???)

I was wondering if any of you had one??? (please post pictures if you do???) please

Or

Has anyone in the forum even seen one???

I see 2 references to this reel in Turners book ..... and a photo ,

The 4-1/2" wide drum was made from (1920 to 1924) 2 white handles, 3 screw drum latch, steel line guide and silent winding!

Rick -

I won't pretend to know more than I do about these reels, but in past correspondence with Floodtide he did share what I thought was some very interesting
details. As I understand it, the reel was only made in one size 4 1/4 inch, and was only cataloged from 1920 through 1924. I "think" the reel you
had a photo of is an earlier model (based on the alloy foot) and that both early and late models have shallow drums. I also "think" Floodtide...

Mark,

Thanks for posting the photo for me. I notice there are stubtle differences between that reel and the other 4-1/4" St. George Salmon you posted. The two
easily identifiable differences in the reels are the two holes in the spool and the style of the spool release cap. Does the reel with the two additional
holes have a large diameter arbor whereas the other has a standard arbor?

I have a color photo of the St. George Salmon reel you describe. Unfortunately, I do not know how to post photos so I have asked Mark (turtledoc) to post the
picture for me, and you. It truly is a beautiful reel.
