Hi Todd Like you I prefer a slow to medium taper and this Becker is a med fast. I really like the rod for it's great cosmetics and taper. Would classify
it as a point and shoot taper. I like it because it will be great on the Beaverkill or Delaware. The Standard 8' three piece for a five was nothing like my
rod. It has a slow to med taper and loads great throughout the cast. I have a Simroe three piece eight footer that was a hair slower than this rod. Just a
great fishing rod....

Bob, sounds like your rod is quite a bit faster than the one that I cast. Just want to emphasize I only cast one of Beckers rods, and I too thought the
cosmetics on the rod were first rate. I especially liked the avocado green translucent wraps, really nice work. I just didn't care for the taper, and I
like slow rods if they're progressive. Todd

Giff 11, here are some pics of my 6 1/2' 3/2 Becker. It is a point and shoot cannon designed to throw dries w/ droppers on small streams. But it can also
reach out! While it is marked a 4wt, I personally like it with a 5wt.

Hi I picked up a new Becker from Carmine, 8' three piece for a five that was a custom built taper. I talked to Jim about the rod and he stated it is a
stronger taper built at the request of the buyer. The rod casts great with a five weight line. Lots of power with fine tips. I love the rod. The cosmetics are
perfect down to the perfect varnish and well executed wraps. I am still shocked at how cheap the rods are especially when you consider his years of
experience. He is definitely a...

Believe he played a large part in the development of the Rocky Mt. series of rods at Orvis. His 7.5ft 3/2 5wt is a really great all round trout rod - found it
to be medium fast and very capable. Finish work is excellent - basically think for the money he is tough to beat - nice short ferrules too.

I took an 8 foot 3/2 5 wt that Carmine had at Langs in November out for a spin and I found the rod medium and maybe a little tip heavy, Carmine agreed and
indicated that the 7 and 7.5 rods are faster, didn't get a chance to try those. Pretty sure Jim worked at Orvis in the 90's and was responsible for
some of the new ideas and tapers up there, would not surprise me, I have one of the later 3/2 Seven Fours and I think that rod's slow parabolic,
There's other similarities in...
