A 6'9" 2/2 custom Mike Clark 4 wt. for small streams and small fish and a very soon to be made 8'3" 3/2 Chris Carlin 7 wt. for big water and big fish (unless I change my mind and go with an 8'2" 6 wt.).

Waiting on a 6' Brookie rod that should be shipped within the next week or so..........

Can't wait to try it out on some of the small Brookie streams in the Smoky's this Spring.

Just acquired a honey of a Peerless DFS from the original owner. The 80-year old gentleman could not remember the year his wife gave him the rod as a gift. He recounted several trips and specific fish with this rod and confessed he could no longer safely wade his favorite streams. He wanted my assurance the rod would see a river again. Oh yeah, it'll see some time on the South Platte real soon. The weather looks good for Sunday.

I have two hollow built 3 section 5 weights coming in in the next few weeks. One from Bill Harms (8') and the other from Dave Norling (7'9"). These are the two rods I am most thinking about for this new season. That said, I have a barely broken in JD Wagner 4 weight 7'3" quad and a Jeff Hatton 5 weight mortised 7'9" that will likely find a lot of fishing time this spring season.

Just heard from Dave Kenney - the 8' 3/2 5-wt H-7 I ordered a couple of years ago is almost ready! I'm really looking forward to fishing this rod!

slate and bobbee, thank you! I fished it once for about an hour and it seemed like a fairly decent rod. I probably don't cast well enough to tell the difference anyway....hehehe.

All you guys get out there and use those new rods!!! Spring really is coming!

I have a H-I Tonka Prince that was giving to me as a gift two years ago by a dear old friend and mentor. It is a pleasure to cast and fish. Enjoy your new rod and go fishing.

They're all just fishing rods Vic. The Tonka Prince is supposed to be a pretty fair rod itself. Never casted one.

Wow.....mine ain't nuthin' like the rods you guys are mentioning. I picked up a rather nice H & I Tonka Prince, or as nice as they can be, comparatively speaking, and want to play with it this spring. Reckon I shoulda been buyin' some rods instead of the other toys....

I just completed a 7'-9", 3/2 for a 4wt. It is based on a Thomas taper. It is darkly flamed, with red wraps tipped with beige (which the varnish turned to a milk chocolate color that just about disappears on the cane). The reel seat spacer is made from a piece of walnut that was given to me by Royal Wulff. I am waiting for dries to start happening on our mountain streams in NC.

A spittler 8ft for a 4 wt got it in november and havent tried it yet. It is also a quad.

I'm anxiously waiting for two Dave Kenney rods - 8 ft 7/8 wt (Lake Erie steelhead) and 8 ft 5 wt. Both are his H7 taper (mild parabolic).

Which rod, that you have acquired since last season, are you most anxiously looking forward to fishing this year?

As for me, it will be my Dave Male 7 1/2' 2/1 for a 5 weight (recently spruced up by Dave).
