All true bourbon is made only in America. There are plenty of whiskey's, like blended Canadian stuff, but it is not Bourbon. Good enough in a pinch, but not for the PURIST!

I am a relative newcomer to the Bourbons and scotches, but my favorite bourbon thus far was Evan Williams w/ green label, which I haven't had in a year plus. It knocks Jack off the shelf IMO on price and taste, but I was once told I have champagne taste on a beer budget, so excuse what I say.

Woodford Reserve and Bookers are two of my favorites. By the way if you ever get a chance to visit the Woodford distillery it is an excellent tour and in one of the prettiest parts of the country.

I had the opportunity to try some Parker's Heritage Collection 27 year old. Had to cut it with just a splash of water to release, but man, like a glass of nirvana - great stuff, but kind of hard to find (had a co-worker that went on a tour of Kentucky a few months ago).

Being an old soldier. My first bourbon was Jack Black. Also enjoyed Jim Beam . Jack Green label was nice, smooth.

Woodford Reserve is my top choice. Nothing better than sitting around a campfire sipping on some Woodford after a day on the stream.

I'll be the fourth here to nominate Woodford Reserve as my favorite bourbon. It holds that position over my second choice which is Knob Creek. To my nose/ palate they both hold some similarities i.e. a sweet aroma, some toffee, toasted nuts, maybe some marzipan (I used to be a baker) though each to varying degrees. I am currently working on a 1.75 L bottle of Knob Creek. Had a couple fingers worth last night in a beautiful crystal rock glass with hand painted wild birds that my wife got...

Of all these I've enjoyed Buffalo Trace and Makers Mark and enjoyed both to varying degrees. But thanks to you guys here my little stash will likely include a couple of the names here...all I needed was but a little push!

I appreciate this thread. I'm sure I will later this summer around the campfire. Scotch, for me, is for private, quiet times and it's an either/or taste. Seems these whiskeys are well accepted.

My favorite single batch bourbon is Bookers for sure. As far as everyday big batch sipping whiskey, my favorite is the black label Jim Beam.

My favorite bourbon is Booker's Bourbon. It's a Jim Beam small batch bourbon, the only bourbon bottled uncut and unfiltered and usually hits the bottle at around 124 proof. My next favorite is Maker's Mark which is a small batch distiller.

I prefer Bourbon and thought there were others here that do as well.
