Gary sends his thanks to all who have already sent in your Registration ~ it appears that we are going to have a great turn-out! Please remember that Gary must receive your Registration no later than July 27 to ensure that the caterer has everyone covered. There will be no gate registration.

Please remember that you must obtain a Colorado Fishing License even to fish the private stretch of the North St. Vrain on Planet Bluegrass.

Mike and Kathy,

It doesn't look like I will make it to Colorado this year. A tarpon trip in the spring and a trip to Montana in September will eliminate my vacation days (I'm still not sure that I'm cut out for a real job). I'm sure that a good time will be had by all. Please send some pix. Go Heels!

Originally, I requested that donations for our live auction should be sent to me by the end of July so I could include them in the printed item list. That seems like a bit of a hassle for some folks so, if you have item(s) to donate and just want to bring them with you, just email me the description of each item and I will get it from you when you check in Sunday morning, August 2nd. So far, we have 3 bamboo rods, reels, silk lines, rod carriers, a Fishpond Guide pack and lots of other...

Mike & Kathy - you know there's nothing I'd like more than to make it out there for this event - I still consider myself a Coloradoan in exile. Just too darned far for us. Now, in the good old days, we'd have screamed "Road Trip" and would just drive straight through, sleep in the car and shower at truck stops. Unfortunately those days are a bit behind us now. I'll be there in spirit, for what it's worth.

I just booked my flight this morning - sending my registration in a couple days. My youngest daughter lives in Boulder and my newest grandchild is having his first birthday on August 1st. I'm thinking of getting him a 3'6" 000wt rod with rubber grip ('cause he'd definitely chew the cork off too quickly).

Birthday cake, 2-3 days fishing, visiting with Kathy and Mike, meeting some of the asylum members - should be a great few days!

So far, the retail value of the donated items for our live auction totals over $2000 with more to come. Just a reminder - 100% of the auction proceeds go equally to Reel Recovery and Casting for Recovery; both cancer survivor programs. Lots of really interesting items have already been donated including rods, lines, books, rod cases and guided trips so if you have donations, please let me know. Thanks, Gary.

Hello All, There is not a better place to be this weekend August 1 & 2. Gary Carbaugh a board member here along with mike and Cathy take care of a lot of details to put this show on there will be almost countless rods to cast and admire. There are tables and tables of vintage rods & reels for sale and trade.Lots of great people to meet and share stories with too. Did I mention the fishing in Colorado is usually red hot at this time of year. Rocky Mountain National Park is just over...

Announcing the 4th annual Colorado Cane Conclave, founded by Gary Carbaugh. This is a gathering of people who build, collect, fish and enjoy fine bamboo rods and other vintage tackle. Also an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to try cane but has not had the chance.
