There are times when I think nothing could be sweeter than floating down a meandering backwoods green river with a warm southern breeze casting for smallies.
But, ya just never read or hear about it and very few adds showing the romantics of bass fishing. If so it's usually some big/husky good'ol boys with
goatees and ball caps whooping it up. The opposite is generally portrayed of the trout fisher. Why is trout fishing, especially with a bamboo rod, romanticized

at closing time. A little larger, can give you a hell of a fight when you cross her. Is easier to pick her up. the trout is the cheerleader that you have to
work at to get. Like in high school.. Beautiful, pretty, popular, lives in nicer neighborhoods. Can be a pain in the ass with different sizes of flies,

I think that you can break down bass fishing into a couple different Genres..1)Glitterboat fishing on the big lakes 2) Pond & Small lake fishing, and 3)
Stream Fishing. Each of those Genre's has its own following, and you can choose to do what you want...I'm not a big fan of big lake or pond fishing,

fished this area for 40+ years and since about 1995 the difference is unbelievable. Thirty years ago a 15"-17" fish was about tops and rare at that.
Now we regularly catch 18"-20" fish. We've had many days with several 20" fish!

Only Trout, While some of your observations are true I would hazard that the vast majority of Bass Fishing is not done from an overpowered monster boat. Here
in the Northeast and throughout much of the rest of the country, there are motor limits on most of the lakes. This was predominately done to eliminate
Watersking, but the result is the same, No bass boats. Tournement fisherman also use heavy line because that fish they just hooked could be the million dollar

Landing a fish of this size on anything less than a 6 or 7 wt rod can be quite a chore. They always fight hard bulldogging and jumping all the way. They always
give one last lunge and are often lost at the very end of the fight. The best smallmouth waters I have fished definitely have had the wild and secluded beauty
of a quality trout stream.

limited. I just don't see that trout fishing is romanticized like some may believe. Maybe what this topic is really about is trout fishermen's
attitudes about bass fishermen? Trout fishing is only talked and written about by other trout fishermen - for other trout fishermen - so how is that being
romanticized? Many books and videos...

fished for about 30 minutes without results, when I had a tremendous strike and was into a very strong fish, which I couldn't see due to cloudy

Not sure it really is...might be a regional thing ...different areas of the country...but "out west here"....most of my friends fish both...different
times of the year making it possible to fish 365 days of the year, (personally would not recommend this unless you have a good Divorce lawyer in the family).
