the first edition was indeed published in 1882, see enclosed pics. you got the authors right too, lees and clutterbuck. dunno if I mentioned it in '07, but the book is so popular in norway that, as far as I know, there was never a year when it has been out of print since 1884.

I did a search and the earliest edition that was listed was 1882.
Also, one search turned up a single author - James A. Lees and then somewhere else it lists two authors - James Lees and Walter Clutterbuck. Two authors makes more sense given the cover and title page: "by Two of Them". Can anybody shed any light on this book?
