I think I have found some of the best functional reel cases I have ever seen. They are essesntially very short Harding cordure covered PVC rod
cases, lined in a soft cloth, and padded at both ends. The ones I got are 4" diameter by 3 1/2" long and a perfect for Hardy Perfects, St Georges
and vomHofe style reels. Can be custom made to any length, diameter and color. See the botttom of http://www.hardingandsons.com/softtr.html

Creakycane is right. Don't look for reel cases. Order very short rod cases. I called and though the cases are 3 1/2 inches long, the length of 4 inch
diameter tube is actually only 2 1/2 inches. With all the padding and the length of the zippered top, the case comes out to 3 1/2 inches long.

Go to the link in the top post and look at the rod cases on the bottom of the webpage. Then, order real short ones and you'll have reel cases in the
diamter you require...... They are not specifically listed on the website as reel cases.

The inside bottom is some kind of plastic padding of some variety. I actually keep my reels in their bags inside thse protective cases, so I really didn't
look at the inside that much....

Both the red and black cases are lined with a lightweight fleece sloth over the PVC tube - it's not foam. the kind of thing camera cases are lines with -
I think it will last for a long time......There is a small pocket in the top with zipper that is very small, big enough for drag parts, a label, small
paperwork etc....

Those cases look very functional. I may get 4 or 5. What are the cases lined with? The open red case seems to have green foam which I am concerned will dry
and start to "flake" off while the open black case with what I assume is a baby Hermann appears to have a cloth/ lining. Is there also a zipper
pocket on top?
