I looked at these back when there was some discussion about his bags. While fishing today I realized that a lot if not most of the time one fly box would
be plenty. Even having moved down to a strap vest from a full it is still at times heavy. In the mountains it would be easy to just use the 32 compartments
carefully and maybe add one of those little midge boxes on the hooks and be done with it. Bandana and mucilin in pocket and...

I still feel naked if i am not carrying every fly I have ever tied, bought, stolen or found. It's a sickness, I carry deer hair poppers when I fish the
beaverkill. I've tried 12 step programs, tough love, therapy, and just plain old forgetfulness. Nothing works, I still find myself fishing with an elk hair
caddis wearing what looks like a badly dried well used Mae West, I'm dragging more weight than Jacob Marley. I have come to the conclusion that there is no
hope, I am too far...

I switched to a lanyard a couple years back and have no problems. Teamed witha a good fishing shirt with big pockets I have everything I need. Most of the
better fishing shirts today have a loop of some kind sewed into the middle of the back shoulder high that works perfect for the magnetic net release that keeps
my net in perfect position.

Marty-good choice! Mine just came last Friday. Agree, Joe is a good guy to deal with, and he custom made mine to fit one of the SA boxes. Ordered and
recevied in less than a week, and he had an email waiting in my in basket to make sure that it arrived and was what I was looking for.

In the summer, a lanyard around my neck would drive me crazy. I tend to stick a couple of tippet spools in my pocket and a small box of flies in another, with
nippers on a retractable reel clipped to my waistband and a surgical clamp (hemostat) clipped to a belt loop. For an all day trip, I used to use the Filson
waist pack, but found I needed a daypack for water, food, and other necessities. Now I use a relatively small waist/lumbar pack with bottle holsters. I might
carry a standard fly box...

An xtra leader, nippers.

Never been left short as those fish are not that picky.

Now if it's a spring creek well, I start piling it on a bit.

I use a lanyard for tools and two spools of tippet, and a belt pouch just big enough for two of the small C&F swing-leaf boxes. Net is hung on belt on
other side. Ideal for warm weather. Only one layer of stuff on one's back.

For cooler weather, all but the net goes into a Simms G3.

Just got off the phone with Joe... nice guy. He is making me one a little fatter to accomodate a 1609 may or may not be the answer but worth a shot. I like
dealing with small outfits like that anyway. Hopefully will force me to keep it light but 32 compartments of flies and one or two of the little plastic
midge/ nymph boxes will hopefully be enough for me to keep it light on my back

Haven't used that particular one, but I did try a lanyard for a while coupled with a Columbia Bonehead shirt with deep pockets for fly boxes all in an
attempt to simplify and minimize. That program lasted a couple of outings before I went back to the vest.

Old habits die hard I guess; just couldn't do without those extra pockets, and I've never found a solution for carrying a net better than the D-ring on
the back of the vest. Also, all that crap hanging around my...

Thanks for the suggestion tried one but can't do a waist pack due to some plates wires and screws in lower back/ pelvis puts pressure in the wrong spots
and I can only keep it on for about 15 minutes. I had some rough times when a young Marine but ......they paid books, tuition, room and board for me to go to
college and taught me all the things that have made me successful in the corporate world. (I still maintain I got a lot more from them than they did from me)

Another option would be to consider something like the the Filson Waist Pack ( http://www.filson.com/pro...121450&parentPage=family
