One of my favorite tapers from "The Lovely Reed" is the D6611. And my favorite Gillum tapers are the 7' and the 7'8".

Oh yeah, I should have mentioned I bought the book new for $50 and the lesson here is buy ALL the new books when they come out as they tend to get made only once. If you want to buy a book with decent tapers and an excellent addition to ant rodmakers arsenal try the Maurer/Elser book it is very good and still affordable.

I have the book and the taper section is very solid. Many rods listed and approved by Daryl Whitehead.

Is there anyone out there who has a copy of The Lovely Reed that would be willing to scan and email the pages detailing the Gillum tapers to me? I wish the book was still in print, 'cause I just can't afford the $300 to $1200 asking prices I'm finding on the web. Any help with this would be greatly (and I mean GREATLY) appreciated - just shoot me a PM.
