Hi folks,

385 posts on the last thread seem to be plenty to me. The original thread is one of my all time favorites on the Classic Flyrod Forum.

I'll start off a new thread with an identical purpose -- just to give us an opportunity to show what we are working on now, or have just completed.

Here's a few shots of a 6'+ three weight made for a board member. I understand he will give it to his twelve-year-old son. You gotta envy that young

MJF,

What a fine looking little rod you've made here! I'm also liking the smaller, light rods especially for the smallish trout I'm used to.

I fish mostly 4 wts, sometimes a 3wt. Still, I'd love to create one like you have here sometime in the future. A fine little, delicate rod for
....those times when you're in a good spot, out of the breeze during a hatch and can play some!

Nice work!

Here is a 2 0z ready to fish 3wt based on the Leonard ACM taper. I shortened it to 6'3". It is a joy to cast. I wanted a very light rod that was only
a 3wt, not a 3,4,5 wt. This little rod is perfect for casting just the leader and maybe 10' of line. From 10' to 30' the rod was a joy, light and
accurate. With a double haul I made some 40' casts, but I do not expect to do that on the creek. I am guessing a 10" brook trout will put a very good
bend in this rod. I...

Gary,

Shaping carbon fiber rods into a hex tube is about the same amount of work as making the titanium hex tubes. My remark about the time it takes to make the rod
has more to do with making 4 sections and 3 ferrules. If I were a commercial builder, that would be a concern, but, as an amateur, I can have the fun of
trying something like this without worrying about being paid for my time.

I'll admit though, that I was not casting without bias. I got to know Lee a bit at the SRG (thanks for the ferrule making lessons, Lee!), and he was one of
