I know, I know. There I go being opinionated about aesthetics again. I realize resorcinol is a great way of showing off perfect glue lines. Still not my
taste, but in terms of function it is a great glue. I've used it in repairs and it is bombproof.

mattcliff - No it isn't! I rather like it, if the lines are narrow and fairly uniform. It's also the best glue available. That said, and sadly, I
don't use it much any more because a lot of people don't like the purple glue lines. Another thing, I have tried color additives, various brands of
Resourcinol (and settled on the two part liquid stuff for aircraft propellors) and the color *always* comes back.

Why would you want to change its color? For one thing, I would be very leery of putting any additives in a glue meant to hold a fly rod together. For another,
if I used it, I wouldn't try to disguise it as something else.jmho

There are two types of resorcinol, one is naturally brown and the other is purple.
The commonly used resorcinol additive is Tioxide a pigment used to make white paint. When this is added to resorcinol ( brown or purple) the natural colour
becomes clear (ish).............
