Will be visiting from the east coast in mid-June.

Meeting my son living in S.F., to do some c&r trouting.

Looking for suggestions, and we're happy to get out there.

I won't be back too soon so no chance of spoiling anyone's honey hole.

Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer.

Many thanks,

I would check out the Mammoth area, Bishop or Bridgeport . Fish the Owens river near Bishop wild trout section or fish the East walker in Bridgeport. Do you
float tube? Some great lakes that are fun to midge or toss streamers.

On a recent trip the East Walker was just crazy on small flies down to 20-22's, my best fish went 21 inches and was 4.5 pounds. You can swing streamers for
big brown to 30 inches. This is a tailwater fishery with a little of everything including BWO,...

One place that would be closer is Putah Creek. It is near the town of Winters, CA. It may be nearly unfishable with high water. A lot of water is drained
through there for irrigation. It has been several years since I was out there, so I don't know of a local fly shop to refer you to. There are some big
trout there though, and it's only about an hour away from SF.

IMHO, best place in CA would be the Eastern Sierra/Mammoth Lakes. About 5+ hours driving for me (I can just about spit to SF from my home). From north to
south, the blue ribbon fisheries are, East Walker, Rush Creek, Upper Owens, Hot Creek, MF San Joaquin, Crowley Lake, Lower Owens. there are a bunch of smaller
streams to be found as well. Excellent deals on lodging available in the summer (Mammoth is a ski area). You can fish the Tuolomne area of Yosemite, the Little
Lakes chain...

Monty!
We're looking to kill a four day week-end. Would prefer wading in river vs. mountain brooks. I like med.+ water.
All fly fishing.
Will want a bed and shower at night.
Don't mind driving at all.
One day guide may be an option?
Perhaps a range of distance from S.F. : (a) closest, (b) 3hrs away, (c) 4+ hrs away ?
Hope the economy hasn't affected the scenery .

Very nice of you to ask, thanks.
