Rich Margiotta did a great job of re-wrapping (or whipping for the international set) the rod and polishing everything up. The royal blue wraps with gold
tipping just "jump" off the rod... quite the eye candy. Took the rod out for a trail run with the new wraps and the trout seemed to like it as well
as about 20 of them hopped on the fly to get a ride up to get a closer look at the rod. They all wagged their tails which must mean they approved.

The rod has an interesting history. It was designed by Dermot Wilson of England and Peter Alport (Norm Thompson owner) in the late 60s/early 70s. They made
up a few and had friends all over the world try them out and make suggestions as to taper modifications (thus the "International" designation). Some
of these suggestions were incorporated and the rod then put into manufacture by Sharpes/Farlow. The rod is very highly thought of in England and are still
quite expensive there....

Hi Ralph:

Once upon a time I also owned one of the aforementioned rods. The wraps were indeed a very unusual aqua blue tipped gold.
It had a conical "Ritz" grip and down lock sliding band over cork reel seat. Very staggered ferrule design with a l-o-n-g hexagonal cane ferrule plug
to make the butt equal in length to the tip when stored. Lastly, I remember the rod as having a very powerful tip.

I traded it to Phil Snyder about 1991.

Regards,
...
