Once upon a time I also owned one of the aforementioned rods. The wraps were indeed a very unusual aqua blue tipped gold.
It had a conical "Ritz" grip and down lock sliding band over cork reel seat. Very staggered ferrule design with a l-o-n-g hexagonal cane ferrule plug to make the butt equal in length to the tip when stored. Lastly, I remember the rod as having a very powerful tip.

I traded it to Phil Snyder about 1991.

I just recently came into one of these rods and it's a casting fool. Rich Margiotta is going to rewrap the rod for me and the current wraps seem to be a teal blue/with yellow tipping.
