I may have an issue with my Bill Ballan Heirloom Classic reel that I could use some advice on.  This reel uses a simple single click pawl tensioned by a
caliper spring.  The problem I am having is the screw that mounts the pawl to the back plate keeps coming loose and then I have no drag at all.  Well, I should
clarify by saying that it has happened twice now.  The first time it happened I went in and tightened the screw back down and all seemed to be fine. I figured

			<description><![CDATA[ I had the same problem. I contacted Bill and he said he got a bad batch of screws and to send it back. I sent it back and he returned it repaired in a couple
of weeks along with one of his leather cases for my trouble. I had heard that he was hard to deal with but this was not my experience.

			<description><![CDATA[ do NOT go for the one with the highest strength, red loctite will make that screw a permanent fixture! Use blue loctite and if it is still giving you problems,
try the purple. Red loctite is meant for permanent use only and it will be impossible to remove the screw without damaging the back plate after it is done. I
ended up having to use a drop of blue loctite on the spool retaining screw on my Ballan reel and it has been perfect ever since. Like was already stated, make

			<description><![CDATA[ I had a problem with my Ballan shortly after acquiring it several years back.  I sent it back to Bill when he was still operating from Long Island, and I had
it back fully repaired within a week or ten days.  I gather Ballan has relocated since I got my reel from him, and I have no idea what his current receptivity
to repairs is.  Everything seems to be going through Halls River Classics in Homossassa, FL.
