anodized silver/clear. I purchased that reel directly from a Japanese dealer. Both reels are from the Lightweight III series. There is an even rarer 3"

From talking to the Hardy folks at the Fly Fishing show this year, it was my understanding that the Bougle Lightweight III got its name due to using the same
color scheme as the Lightweight reels (LRH, etc) and the III designates its 3" size. The spool and winding plate are anodized a light gray, while the
frame is anodized dark gray. The same reel was also available...

The lightweight III was named as such because that reel could also be had as the agate III. This is how Hardy distinguished between the two. The agate series
also included the agate II and agate I. The Bougle V's were all lightweights in nature - this reel was named the Centenary in honor of Hardy's
anniversary. The V's were available in the same sizes as the Mk IV's and Mk VI's.

Europe as well. My Japanese Baby is gold anodized, while the North Americans were silver/clear anodized. Both have the ventilated winding plate, unlike the
larger Mk IV's. Go for it, but beware. You may find that it needs a playmate like I did, and the best reel to put next to it is the equally rare Bougle
