        <![CDATA[ last fall and winter I made quite a few trips to fish steelhead between Cleveland and Erie, pa.  I used a John Pickard Texan each time.  On no trip did I see
another fisherman using a bamboo rod for steelhead, and I saw a lot of fisherman.  Now you can buy a nice bamboo rod for steelhead for not a lot of money, yet
no one seems to be doing it.  Geez, I wonder if it&#39;s because bamboo is so much heavier to carry, etc......Now I don&#39;t think it&#39;s far fetched to

that&#39;s not the whole story.  Shoot, fly fishing is general is seen as a snooty, rich, white mans sport with the cane rod fisherman at the top.  That&#39;s
