I have just counted. 14 Hardys of which I use 2 and am about to bring into use my LHW St George Junior to go with my new 7' cane rod from Stephen Woolley of Ashbourne, 6 Dingleys including a red agate silent wind, unfortunately in very poor condition, 5 probable Dingleys (some sold as Dingleys and some as Walker Bampton) and 17 odds and sods. That makes 42 which is just over 5 per rod, although really only a few were bought to use. Unfortunately I couldn't make Mullock's auction...

That sounds like (almost) how I split my 'collections' up -
1) an irresistible bargain
2) a must have piece for my collection
3) another 'accumulation'

yes please post a picture of your fly collection for us to drool over also , did you tie them yourself , that is such a nice neet collection , i have got to do something with my stuff after seeing your post , i just have my reels on a old shelf i made out of barn boards , rustic looking but in truth they should be in a disply case

Hundreds, somewhere between 150 and 200 for David Slater reels from 2 1/2 inches to 8 in wood, brass ebonite German Silver and aluminium.

2 Hardy reels a Hardex with a modified spool housing and a modified Conquest both belonging to my Grandfather.

About 30 Dreadnought Casting Reel Co/Percy Wadham and lots of early Nottingham reels.

However I have friends with lots more, one with 500+ another with about 1,000 and another with thousands.
