I recently purchased this rod from John Pickard who was selling it for a customer. John said that the rod was built on a Hal Bacon blank but did not know who
had finished it. I am assuming the blank is a Payne 201 based not only on the ink on the rod but by how it casts a DT5. Beautiful casting rod. This was sold in
the Spring 2008 Lang's auction as part of the Keane collection as well (although I cant seem the find the online listing anymore). Does anybody recognize
this rod and have...

I met you on C.F. outlet two weekends ago. Thought you were a new breed of flyfisher as you were holding that H.B. rod in one hand and the Kusse in the other.
Double your pleasure, double your fun............. I was fishing the 7' Glenn Brackett Winston. Just wanted to say hello.

Just a thought. H.B. might stand for Hollow Built. Per Brandin writes H.B. on his hollow built rods.

The above rod has been stated by Langs as being built by me. Not so, I would never build a Payne rod with 3x3 node spacing. If a customer asked for a Payne
blank with 3x3 node spacing i would build it for him. Also I would use Payne ferrules not the Leonard ferrules as pictured on the rod in Question.
