Designed and made a new 5 wgt raised pillar reel. The design combines the looks and attributes of both Hardy and Leonard style reels, with an open palming
plate/side. The reel is 3.25" from pillar to pillar with a 0.75" inside spool width and weighs in at 6.3 ounces. The reel's side rims are
6061-T6 aluminum anodized both black and blue (for Daughter). Pillars are nickle silver, trim and foot polished aluminum, with Delrin used for the side plate.
Uses a fixed click-n-pawl....

Hollireels -

It's really cool to see the finished product of your reels on the rods ready to go, and it is VERY cool that your daughter has a reel made by Dad....even
if you are teaching her to reel with the wrong hand by making her a LHW reel

I think the reels look very nice but just one thing to ask ....and PLEASE do not take this as being negative....it is not intended as that....

Finished up the new reels and did some rod/reel swapping. Added some pics: Finished picture of the Daughters blue reel, a D.R. Stone 3 wgt, tied by Sean
Briggs, with my 3/4 wgt Leonard Fairy, a D.R. Stone 4/5 wgt, tied by Wade Malwitz, with my new raised pillar. Rods/reels balance and cast very, well, although
I'm not an expert by any means.

I'm completing the blue one and three more black ones. Once I get one of them completed I'll post pics on the innards. Its similar to the
Waterworks/Lamson's in that the gear is machined into the circumference of the spool, but it does use an actual pawl and spring.
