him out to a sandbar that is starting to show as the tide falls and we set up a little camp. It takes a little extra work but its worth it to share the time
with a best friend. I feel like a lucky guy. I know its not trout fishing...but... fishing is fishing.

" . . .Fishing is fishing."

Maybe. But the way you do it is special, Pete. The picture and the explanation
of how you and your remarkable friend go about it (so completely content with
one another) made for one of the finest posts I've read here in a long time.

A dozen or so years ago I encouraged student poets to try to discover the
"pure lyric"--a poem so compact all nonessentials were stripped away, so what
remained was...

Terrific picture, Pete. That looks like a great way to spend a day with a great friend. Watch out for those blues, nasty buggers.

To date, no Somali pirates have been seen on the Cape. Only tourists from New Jersey who are known to actually leave money behind them to the delight
of the local restaurateurs, inn- and shopkeepers. If it were otherwise, they'd be worth protecting yourself from... just kidding, you-know-who, wherever
you are.

good advice. you do get robbed out there. The seals have a way of grabbing a good bass & there are the ever present packs of vicious blues that tear into
nicely tied flies. One morning while minding my own business casting flies into a rip a fish shaped like a football decided to mug my fly, and like a coward
scream away tearing off line, and within a a few seconds spooling me.... I hate that.

Pete that is a nice picture, but I am a little surprised after reading the lengthy thread in another section of the forum, as it appears that you are not
packing any "protection" in the event that Somali pirates should suddenly appear and attempt to take you and your old friend hostage.
The prevailing sentiment appears to be that you should never assume you are safe anywhere you fish and therefore you should never go fishing without your
pistol.
In the future I hope you...
