Hi, I have 2 narrow drum hardys, a perfect and a uniqua at 3 5/8 inches. These reels dont have a lot of line capacity, I havent properly spooled one yet
but I would guess max 6 weight plastic line with reasonable amount of backing. That makes the reels pretty big and heavy for a fairly small weight line,
probably balancing 8.5 to 9 foot cane or glass rods. I was wondering who uses this reel size, and what rods you match them to? Thanks, Don

Thanks guys maybe the perfect has more capacity than the uniqua. The uniqua wouldnt take 30 years of backing plus a peach 8wf. I think the other part of the
answer is that this size was designed in the days of the smaller diameter silk lines. I just stuck both of them on an older 8 ft glass rod and they balance it
nicely at the tip end of the grip. That rod has a fairly fat handle so the reels look like they fit too. I have some 8 ft cane rods that will work too.
Looks like a nice bass...

I have a 3 5/8" Perfect and can fit a standard WF 8 floater plus 100 yards of 20 dacron. Of course you can get more backing by using gel spun or by
cutting off 10-15' of running line from a WF, depending on how far you can cast. The 3 5/8" Perfect was a standard for west coast steelhead fishing,
using shooting heads, and is well suited to 9' 8 wt. rods.

The 3 5/8 is a good steelhead size for a seven wt or six. probably match up well to a 10' 7wt graqhite.
