My pals. A few of them, from the old days. My hair was jet black.

We used to have gatherings at the late Phil Snyder's house. Gentle Phil, Goodwin Granger man, a Mormon but who allowed the heretics into his immaculate
abode, and onto his dicondra. We crushed it. We caught his award-winning roses. He fed us hearty meals.

These date from spring, 1994. I can date them because I am in-cast with a ruptured right Achilles tendon. No big deal, you don't cast with a leg. No more
hoop...

Thanks Darrell, I got to meet Phil only once in person (plopped down on that same couch!) and agree that he was the nicest of men. I still treasure my all of
Phil/Art rod lists. Never could afford the short Grangers that Phil loved so much and always seemed to have so many listed. I did manage to buy a few rods of
much lessor value.

Yes, I still have that old Leonard. I have fished it a few times and it is a one of a kind rod. I have attempted to duplicate it but to no avail. The rods
I produced were very nice but they did not come close to the "Old Leonard". I will keep trying and maybe someday I will discover the mystery that
makes this rod so great. I cherish it because of who introduced me to it and for the surprised look on peoples faces when they load it up.

I also enjoyed the walk down...

Always drooled over the rods he had. He was a neat guy and a part of my education of cane rods.
