I'm making my ferrules from bar stock, so really don't know what round stock costs. It's been several years since I purchased any bar stock.

As I learned to make ferrules I began to understand how they are priced. Good work takes time, and time is the most precious commodity we have. Though I make ferrules, I still believe the prices we pay are bargains. Of course, buy in quantity to receive a significant discount.

Yes, it is worthwhile to order a bundle. Starting with one 12' piece is much simpler than two 6' pieces. If you are east of the Mississippi River, order from Demarest. West, Royer. With either seller you can save a few bucks on shipping if you order in sufficient quantity. What you will get will be 80%-90% usable bamboo at a great savings over the per culm costs.
