Lots of issues and changes in the last 30 years with the area. Although I pass through almost weekly, I have not stopped to assess whether the small parks even exist as they once did. I'll see how things look once the rain stops here! Maybe a small bamboo gathering possible, but the fishing is poor. Roscoe is a better site for now.

Hello Pete,
I have an early 202 payne. 202's are usually referenced as 6 wts. But this is a 4 oz rod and is a true 5 wt.

In reality, some of the information that you seek is online and in the books. The Prefire rods and actions are considered Leonard's best. Although some of the postfire ones challenge that....

Gentlemen, I have 5 weight addiction & I've been studying what ever I can about the different makers . Started with Dickerson, Garrison, Gillum, ..those seemed to be straight forward. When I got to Payne I started to notice differences in the year groups ....now with Leonard I'm starting to get confused. I'm seeing pre fire & post fire, I'm seeing Maxwell era. For Leonard rods was their a particuliar era when the company was at their peak? I'll probably never buy...
