        <![CDATA[ Holy Smokes!!  Did Leonard and Payne&#39;s take a hit on most items at this auction??  Just finished perusing the first half.  What&#39;s interesting is that
many prices reflected how some members here feel. Dickerson&#39;s went sky high, while some superb Payne&#39;s and Leonard&#39;s were real deals. Many
Garrison&#39;s were more less status quo where Brandin&#39;s went through the roof!


Some of the antique items went for more than Garrison&#39;s, etc. Go figure. Whatever floats your boat... ]]>

			<description><![CDATA[ Supposedly Lang&#39;s will send an ID number or register us before the auction. Frankly, I have to believe their version just because their reputation
seems to be very high among those who have long experience with them and ebay&#39;s is none too good. The trouble is that without having it listed on ebay many
people wouldn&#39;t know there WAS an auction of fishing tackle.That&#39;s the only way I knew about it in the first place.

			<description><![CDATA[ Got a call from Christina at Lang&#39;s today saying they are fed up waiting for ebay to straighten anything out. She told me that ebay refuses to let
them end ebay bids before the auction happens and won&#39;t let Lang&#39;s have any information at all but insists an ebay rep has to be there doing the
bidding for ebay bidders.

     They won&#39;t bend or change this policy for any reason or for anybody and Lang&#39;s can&#39;t sway them. They apparently have no answer for what if... ]]></description>

It sounds to me like you should offer them your services as it is unlikely, if not impossible , that they can unravel the truth on a blunder of this magnitude.
It may be the only way for them to salvage their reputation, and my sense is that if a press release announces you are on the case the recipient of your rod
may well come forward with the rod and a plausible explanation ( perhaps that he had been out of the country ) ,enabling him to avoid the ultimate public
humiliation... ]]></description>

ebay problem (which sound like a real pain in the butt) and that ebay was not being very helpful or taking the problem very seriously (no surprise there).  A
