I'm originally from WV, around the Lewis Co. area - though I haven't lived there for 25 years. I pastor in Indiana now, but I have to run back home a couple times a year to escape all these flatlands for awhile. I still have a farm in north-central WV (Wetzel Co.) and make it back a couple of times a year to visit family. When I fish, I usually head to the eastern part of the state and fish brookie streams right across from and into Md. I also very much enjoy fishing the Elk, down around Monterville. The grass is always greener on the other side of the state. I wish I had more time to fish the Monongahela National Forest area.

Fayette Co. WV is where the New River Gorge is. I grew up around Fayette Co PA, learned how to fish on Dunbar Creek and Big Sandy...you been there?

I've fished Dunbar Creek and Meadow Run but never heard of Big Sandy. My parents are from Leckrone and McClellantown (sp?). i used to spend my summers
there.

Big Sandy flows from just south of the Fort Necessity Battlefield and confluences with the Cheat River in WV. A good place to start would be in Elliottsville on Rt381. I haven't been there for 20 years so I'm not sure if it is as good as I remember. |
