I was given a Mosquito Fly Reel, the only maeking on it are " Precisionbilt Reels. Can somneone give me some info on this reel ?

it has a roller-bearing clutch, and an adjustable friction drag
It was made in the 50s in Hollydale, CA They also made a Silver Moth. If you wax the clear plastic winding plate, they become nicely transparent.

merle, you never mentioned a case, but they did come with a brown bakelite case with green felt lining. i expect the cases got broken on many as the edges are
quite thin.

The reel was on a bamboo rod. Curious about the rod though. The Rod in in excellent condition, but it has darken was age. The wraps are tight and not frayed, I
think maybe the rod has been refurbished. there is no info on the rod at all. The only thing I can say about the rod is that it weighs a ton.

No, it balances out about four inches past the grip.
