There had been a thread several months ago where these "new" perfects were discussed and I thought that someone had posted a few photos. I tried
to go back and find the thread to post the link but I struck out. Maybe someone else will be able to find it and add a link to this thread.

Nice to hear that Hardy is going to make Perfect reels again. Now I also have a change to buy one LHW with agate. And looks is good!
Let's see what the price will be, $500-$600?? |

The retail is going to be set at around $850.
On a side note, a friend of mine spoke to the hardy guys at the Denver retailers show and found out that all the reels will be made in Alnwick, by one person who is a third generation Hardy reel maker. There are supposed to be 200 of each size in each wind direction. Mark |

It's good to hear that they are not made in Korea. $850 sounds expensive, but if it is Alnwick made need to think |

I use a right hand reel and for me $800.00 is to much for the reel
I know where there is a nice 2 7/8 and 3" for $400 and $500 each I don't know of any 2 5/8 though |

Exactly why I ordered a 2 5/8" LHW.

Both Jeff Wagner and Bob Selb are advertising the new perfects on their websites. The prices are as follows: $850 for the 2 5/8", $900 for the 2 7/8"
and $950 for the 3 1/8". They are supposed to be available in both LHW and RHW. Additionally I've been told there probably will not be any extra
spools available.

I don't know why they have the wrong picture in those most of posts, the reel doesn't look like that in the new catalog. They look like this:
http://www.midcurrent.com...fishinggear_reels_09.aspx Grey painted finish like the 70's reels, brass on the lineguard and handle, ivorine handle. The writing does look the same as those posts.Anyway the new perfect looks a lot more like a classic perfect than those pics. That non-painted (silver) reel picture must have been of a prototype. Unless the catalog is wrong, they are going to look like the reels in the link above, not in the other links. Sorry I only looked at the catalog a friend had, can't send pics or other info. Some other new interesting reels in the lineup, including Marquis Salmon and a reel they are calling the Uniqua, which looks like a CFO.

Yeah, the 2 5/8" is the one to get, if any.
I'll wait to see how the finish comes out - if its that nice dark gray, I may pick one up - if its that sparkly champagny/silver frame and spool, forget it. Hope thats only the prototypes.... |

Hook and Hackle Company in Pittsburgh (actually Homestead) will also be carrying these reels. hookhack.com . Ron Weiss is a great guy to deal with, and his fly
lines are great bargains.
