Could you use a #20 tip for a #14? Both rods are 1 3/4 ferrule and both from the same era. Same length too. #20 isn't in any shape to cast. So I
can't even compare.

Hello Anthony,
If the ferrules and length are the same then the taper should be the same. Assuming that both rods are of the same era or close. During the same time all rods of the same length and ferrule sizing used the same taper. I would imagine that the tapers probably changed a bit over the years. I would think that it will be somewhat of a fluke if your tip male actually fits your female though. Larry Swearingen |

The ferrule fit is a little loose. Not so bad that it can't be fixed.
