I'all (pardon the attempt at Flatlander humor) use the furled leaders for all types of flies. Regarding Albolene, I use it as a floatant on flies and on leaders and it hasn't made the leaders any stiffer. In fact, it's a "moisturizing cleaner" ( http://www.albolenecleanser.com/Pages/Albolene_Home), so you can also use it to clean your hands after fishing and / or applying insect repellent. Lets twist one up | #23

I have been fishing furled leaders for about 5 years now and it made an immediate improvement in casting and presentation. I couldn't find any long
enough so I started twisting my own. I fish them on a T&T LPS as well as my Bamboo creations and they perform flawlessly.

Furled leader section | #24
|
I tie a mono leader based on the AK Best formula, using Maxima Chameleon. The leader performs wonderfully. But the last part of the taper section is only 6
inches, which leaves you having to tie another leader after two tippet changes. Last season, I tied an AK leader with the dreaded o-ring on the end of the
taper section. I'm a guy who hates loops or connectors on my fly lines, as they inhibit my casting. I was sure the o-ring would sink the tippet or cause
some other glitch. But the leader performed well in every way. With the o-ring on my leader, I could change tippets without cutting into the leader. So, the
o-rings get my approval.
