Hi Bob , I trust all has gone well and this time you will follow all of the doctors instructions. A doctor who prescribes tequilla as a pain killer must be
taken notice of, and if he says stay off the knee as well as drink tequilla it would be a good idea to do so. Also , have a great Christmas.

Ian, hate that Sam had to change his plans and couldn't make it by the house. He will ALWAYS have a place to stay with Rita and I, as will you and Nova.
OK, everyone, the surgery went well. As Harry said, they couldn't get by with the lower component only, so I have new steel from 6" below to 6" above the knee joint. They went with my my surgeon called a "large" prostheses. He said I would like this one much better and should get a couple of decades of service out of it. So, my friends, as a rodmaker and as a general pest, you guys are stuck with me. I'll be on the me3nd for at least a month... oh and excuse the spelling and typos, as it takes me longer to find and correct them than it does to just keep on pecking away. NMy recovery may be a bit longer than it normally would be, but according to the Doc, ti will be well worth it in the end... in the meantime... life on Vicodin isn't bad! *S* Seriously, I appreciate all of yoiu guys and your well wishes. As my wife says about the SRG crew "Rodmakers are a bowl of gems". Nothing could be more true of the craftsmen and lovers of fine cane. Well, going to brows the otehr boards and see if there's any place I can start a little trouble!' Bob |

Bob,
Glad to hear the surgery went well....remember third time's charm :-) Since you'll be off your feet for awhile I've sent you something that should help with the mobility problems around Mountain Home. It should arrive soon! 
Seriously....rest up do the rehab ....stay well

Dennis, Thank you for a much needed laugh! Been a rough night. They have me out of the bet changing the sheets because they're soaked (sweat, NOT
urine!!!) and I decided to sit here instead of the table in our room. Great decision! I love BOTH scoots!
I am resting and am being very vigilant about my rehab. This time will be much better. Later, Bob (being sent back to bed now) |

I flew into LR on Turkey Day, and just returned last night. I'm kinda bummed... I'll have to send you my itinerary the next time I get back in
your neck of the woods!!

Rex, by all means, let me know next time you'll be in this neck of the woods. I would have loved the company at LR, even in the drug induced state. I
basically just sat there from Wednesday after surgery until Saturday afternoon, my only company being my wife and the Physical Terrorists... oops Therapists...
Next time you head this way, definitely let me know. Even if you don't have time to make it to Mountain Home, maybe we can meet halfway and fish the Little Red a bit, or I can just drive down to Little Rock and visit for awhile... as I'm fond of telling friends who want to go fishing, "I think I'm off that day!". Hey Ralph... trust me... with this new knee... every time I take a step and I feel that 4 pounds of stainless steel and titanium sliding against themselves...
twenty five steps up the hall, twenty five steps back! 6 times in the morning, 6 in the evening, 6 at night... TRUST ME!!! I WILL NOT get stupid and tear this
one up!
