Catch and release has yet to gain much of a foothold here. However, note the radically parabolic nature of the angler's gear: a flat taper through the butt
and a "hinge" that leads to the flexible but strong tip.
Quashnet's Paul H. Young Rod Database has photos and descriptions of over
410 PHY Co. rods, plus catalogs, accessories, etc. Thank you to all
who continue to send me PHY rod photos and info.

I don't think I'd like to be the one trying to convince him to go barbless.

It`s my life | #27 | ||

Hello!
With the demise of our German Steel Industry, business became so slow, my parents had to close down their substantial liquor and tobacco business!
For years we had to live in our old Mercedes, what a great car, what a family!
Since then, as the years passed by, I have struggled very hard and I could finally move into a nicer neighbourhood! Only some weeks ago I bought some nice property in Switzerland, which is at the moment being converted into my new workshop. So things have been going quite well recently and I hope for you all, too! Best Wolfhard

Nice innit?! Riedlingen on the Danube, Southern Germany, one hour South of Stuttgart, two hours West of Munich. These are the upper reaches of Europes
second longest river. Certainly one of the best grayling waters in Germany even though the good fishing is confined to cities as the cormorants have wiped out
all grayling outside of the cities. I live about 100 metres from the best grayling spot I know of...;-)...anywhere! No wonder I became a flyfisherman as I grew
up right next to this lovely stretch of river.

MARCUS, looks like you live in a lovely spot. In the US we tend to pollute the waters that are that close to cities. How do you manage not to do that in
Germany?

well these waters were indeed more polluted about 20 years ago. with the end result at the time that the caddis strived and as a consequence the fishing!
nowadays the waters are much less polluted (Germans are good making laws and lots of bureaucracy you know; as far as I know Germany has the highest
eco-standards in the world) and of course there is much less food for the fish. still an OK water and better than the average club water.

Finally, the ways of the world have swirled around, | #32 | ||

but have not affected us.
We still live oout at Uncle Frank's place with rarely a care, except when the wind is from the north sweeping over the sheep barn.
My one respite from the idicallic farm life is an occasional trip to the town library where I can find some creative relief.

Cormorants and mergansers along with blue herons,,, we must keep them in check or fisheries can suffer. Hardy Guy

Sorry not on a blind date.
Perhaps once we know one another better. And yes that trail has worn down a bit in the last 30years. Mostly due to the 150 lb. bloodthirsty beaver that lives there! Some say it's the Dioxin... |

No, it just looks like a place I fished a couple of times along the Vermont/New York border. |
