the salmon is 4-1/4".
Prices seem to bounce all over, but the smaller reel is more desirable, selling for as wide as $250-400. The larger goes for a bit less, maybe capping at $250. The mechanism is very interesting:
The spool is supported on each of the spindle by shaft bearings. The drag is a larger bearing ball pushed by a spring against a ratchet plate. The drag adjustment increases the ball load against the ratchet. It has pretty big start up inertia, and not a lot of UPS-truck-stopping power, but works.
