Posts: 17 01/12/2009 13:01	Tags : None Hei, I might hopefully go to Yellowstone National Park again to fish next summer. We will be 4 fishermen, and I am thinking about renting a small cabin the closest to the Park as a "base camp". That´s why I thought West Yellowstone could be the best option. Do you know any recomendable and budget place there (we will be happy just with a small one, with kitchen and 4 beds...). The other option we are thinking about is to get a cabin inside the park, preferably in Roosevelt lodge; any information about it will be nice as well. Thank you all, Ra.

Posts: 284 01/12/2009 13:31	Depends on when you go...The Madison, Firehole, and Gibbon in the park are often closed to fishing after mid July due to high water temps...which leaves the NE corner of the park for most of your fishing..Roosevelt is a good place to stay in the NE corner but accomodations are very basic, walk to the shower house, no running water in the cabins, etc. Food at the lodge is fair, and they have a bar. The park can be very crowded in Mid July so I prefer to go elsewhere at that time of year. Cheers.

Posts: 105 01/12/2009 13:39	Rates are alot better in Island Park-the other bet , if you don't mind looking at the Gallatian every day, is to stay in Big Sky--with the economy the way it is, prices for rentals there have dropped dramatically

Posts: 22 01/13/2009 13:46	it's not a 'cabin' but the One Horse motel in West Yellowstone will treat you right plus you get a/c. plenty of eating and drinking within easy walking distance. if you decide you will be fishing mostly in the NE (lamar valley) check out the Grizzly Lodge in Silver Gate or the Pines Edge Cabins. (I would think 4 guys in one of those cabins would be tight) eating and drinking would require a trip up the road to Cooke City and even then the pickings are slim. Pines Edge does have kitchens and I think maybe one of the cabins is bigger then the rest.. (silvergate cabins and pines edge are own and run out of the one general store in silvergate) The 'cabins' at Roosevelt not sure how they get away with calling 4 walls and creeky bed a cabin.. restrooms and showers are a walk and high use (nasty). Posts: 1107 01/14/2009 11:10	West is good for fishing the western portion of the park. There are lots of accomodations and they area right about places to eat. Fishing the north portion of the park - you could think about Cooke City or Silver Gate - or even Gardiner. Gregg
