Just happened to look at an old bamboo flyrod I acquired about 35 years ago. Got it at a garage sale (I don't even know if they were called that way back
then?) I forgot I even had it! I thought the thing was pretty old when I got it, as the tag on the cannister was yellowed, faded and cracked.
Here's what it is...a South Bend #24, 9 footer. It came in a green cloth case, inside a metal cannister....aside from a little bit of discoloring on the cork handle, from minimal usage, it pretty much looks like new. The only markings I could find are on the rod and it says...South Bend #24 9' use xcel oreno line HCH.C or GBF.
With this limited information, does anyone out there have any idea as to when this rod may have been made and what it might be worth?
