I picked up an 8' H-I Mint Cascade for a song last year. It broke just above the male mid while roll casting from an Au Sable River Boat. A not too
uncommon complaint for H-I's. I tried to sell this rod to Feestoner prior to the debacle. Glad he did not buy. I'm reconsidering ever selling an
H-I to CRF members again.

I thought that one you had was a Canada Creek, Andy. That's the more common 8' 3 pc. H-I.

Last year I picked up two Heddons for both under $700. One was a Model 17 7.5ft. 1.5f and the other was a Model 35 8.5 2f. Both rods were in great shape and
you just got to love those old Heddon tapers. My real sleeper is an old H-I 7ft. Tonka Prince that I refinished last Spring. Casts best with a 5wt. line and
its a whole lot of fun on little ponds for bluegills and small bass.

Bob.
You are correct. It was a Canada Creek.

Andy Yery, a northwest rod builder makes a very nice unpretentious rod. Seen occasionally, they are a real bargain.
