Ok, who wants to sell a red agate Dingley? |
Lead | ||
|
As Lee Marvin said in the movie "Paint Your Wagon", "whatever the last bid was, I'll double it!"

HAHA! You know, queries like this sure are driving down the price of Dingleys.
Can't you stick to Youngs, or even Hardys? Or gold Maple Leafs? Or Treasury Bonds? :-) |

The most desirable Dingley's have a brass line guide. Less glitz -- in this new and $ reduced age -- and not prone to fracture.

Ok Dennis, as John Belushi said in the movie "blues brothers", " how much for the women?"
Translation, how much will you take for the Dingley on the left? |

Ok, here's what you're running into.....And it's not confined to fly fishing tackle.....A guy who likes to fly fish, hits it big in the stock
market....Or, bets on the right horse, whatever.....Now, he has some "found money" in his pocket, a lot of it......Past history has taught him that
the market can/will take back the gains.....So, he says, I've had my eye on a red agate Dingley for 3 years, now I have the dough. No logic, no amount of
bidding, will stop him......Welcome to my world.....I could care less what the price is.....If I want it, it's only money.

Surely in some movie someone said "how much $ you got?"
Your timing is good -- with the current and building interest in Dingley and the soon to be published book they may well be more appreciated and their value $ appreciated. BTW, the reel on the left is a 3 1/2" marked Robertson Maker Glasgow -- perhaps a post war reel. |

Two such people? let me tell you, there's more than two......Look at the price of Super Bowl tickets when the Eagles were in it......Philly fans drove the
price of everything sky high.....you know why? Cuz they could afford it!

It was fine with me that everyone is talking up Payne rods and Dingley reels this week, and diverting attention from the Young rods and Hardy St. George reels
that I love. But man, when you show me that double-handled Dingley.... well, that reel has some serious impact!

420 PHY Co. rods, plus catalogs, accessories, etc. Thank you to all
who continue to send me PHY rod photos and info.

And to think, I'm sitting on the world's greatest known collection of red
agate Dingleys, and I'm shipping them back to their owner on Monday. I'm doing this of my own free will. Red agate after red agate after red
agate.
Is there something wrong with this picture?! |
